The term "type Lommelev-Nyirtura" refers to the classification of shields made of bronze. The type is defined by concentric ribs and round bosses arranged in a star pattern. Only one complete shield is known, from Lommelev in Denmark, but several fragmentary finds are known from Hungary and Croatia. This type of shield is believed to have been used in the early to middle part of the Urnfield period, roughly 1300 BC to 1000 BC.

The Lommelev shield is 68cm in diameter, made from 4-7 mm thick rawhide from cow/ox. The shield is well-suited for swords such as Naue II, Rixheim and Hemigkofen types. Also available painted with a hide-glue-based pigment paint.
